Most people usually think of Conventional wisdom at its best. The problem most people have with this is that conventional wisdom goes so far today then it stops working for what you need. Unconventional wisdom is what many rely on as creativity and innovation are not traditional.

Traditional ways of doing things is where most people are at. You typically think this way and do things along these lines. Essentially, you rarely color outside the lines for any reason. You may still think differently but rarely do you express them outside of yourself.
When was the last time you inspired yourself by an idea outside the box you wanted to create? Were you afraid of telling other people of your idea because it was not traditional? Or did you not care about that as you are shifting your thinking toward being creative and innovative? Conventional wisdom wants you to do things that everyone else does. Yet if you think for a few minutes everything you knew before has changed to unconventional. For example, going from a typewriter to a computer, having a limit as to how far you can go at the end of a cord to talk on a phone to a wireless handheld device, so forth.
The world is changing and you may need to let go of your fears of creativity and work on yourself to overcome these issues and grab hold to gain creative confidence. The more and more we move forward in the 21st century, your career will depend on you being creative and innovative.
